Thanks in advance, im looking at remanufatored bosch injectors with 4 pin holes instead of 1 for my 1999 K1100Lt, only question i have is they say they are for K1100lt up to 1997, should be the same as mine yeah?? Im in Australia and the injectors are on ebay in the States so don’t want to order as the postage costs just as much as the injectors ????

I'll move your question to the TECH, however, I can say that they should fit.
I'm betting the reason the sale posting listed 'up to '97' is because '97 was the last model year sold in the states. The 1100LT continued to sell overseas for 2 more years.

Yes, they'll fit but despite claims of how great the 4 hole injectors are they're no better than your factory ones. I've tried them in both K75s and K1100s there's no difference. In the US I send my injectors to a guy (Mr. Injector) who refurbs them for $18 each. If you have a similar FI servicer in your country then I'd do that instead.

I changed mine out about 12 years ago and found that I did get a better throttle response out of them.

Compared to the old injectors that had never been serviced?

I've sent a lot of injectors into Mr. Injector. They all have reduced flow from spec - usually in the 3-8% range - and of course the bike runs better once they've been serviced.

I took the old ones out, took them apart, cleaned them, put in new o-rings and bench checked them. Put them back in and they worked the same as before I cleaned them.
I feel that the new ones with 4 orifices dispersed the fuel in cylinder better and gave a better combustion.

Now that I have a parts 'donor' bike, I've thought about having the injectors sent out and serviced to be able to swap into the 'living' bike.
Though I can't say as I've noticed any lack of response, but just the fact that it's 25+ years old and over 100K miles.

How did you clean them? Using an ultrasonic cleaner while cycling them like Mr Injector does? Did you measure their flow rates before and after?

I do this for all of my Ks. If nothing else it's good maintenance, especially after 100k and 25 years.

I use the ultrasonic cleaner that I use for working on rebuilding my scuba regulators. I cycle them on and off to make sure that the solenoid is opening and closing the pintle valve so any debris or build up is removed. Then I test them individually on the bike one by one so I can visually see that they are spraying ok. It is a little messy on the bike but I have only done it a couple of times. I do not test there flow rates.

Wish I had all of the stuff (and room) to do that.

Do you dive in NM? (I used to dive when I traveled around the world but am not an expert as I only have about 150 dives. I spent a week at Truk Lagoon on a liveaboard. That was awesome diving.)

I cleaned the injectors on a Microturbo turbine engine with a tabletop ultrasonic cleaner used for jewelry and a good solvent. Worked wonders. Before it was hard to start, after it was easy peasy. No hot starts, no wasted fuel. Smile The injectors are inside the ring at the back of the engine.

I work at the aquarium here in town so I dive there. Most of my diving has been on the coasts at other aquariums I have worked at and diving with friends. I have collected fish in the Bahamas and off the Keys in Florida. I have done deep dives (140+ft), wreck dives, zero visibility dives, ice dives, dove and trained dolphins and beluga whales, confined space dives and drift dives.

I have been diving for 47 years and have over 5000 dives.

I don't dive as much as I used to.
