Quote: | I strongly suggest getting the mod chip for the fuel injection controller. Gives you 15 hp back, makes it peppier and improves gas consumption. I got this one when I was in Germany. Piece of cake to install. |
This is vaporware without a dyno chart. What Motronic is that for? (There's four different Motronics used in K1100s.) Why do they list the K1100LT and not K1100RS which uses the exact same Motronics?
Quote: | The dry weight of a K1100LT is advertised at 765 lbs. |
It's 551 pounds dry and 640 pounds wet according to the owner manual - Page 78:

That's a "fishy" bike. There's no reason a K75RT with only 31K should need new paint unless it's been crashed or abused. A 1994 K75RT should have an electric windscreen - that one doesn't. (And it's not worth $4,800 either.)
And riding a K75RT is a lot different than riding a K1100LT. The power, forks and front brakes are noticeably better on a K1100LT. (K1100s are only buzzy if not tuned properly.) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hardly so. You have to give them the model number of the box when you order. The chip is burned for your Motronic controller. The ad is for the K1100LT. There are other ads from the same company for other BMW bikes.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/tuning-chip/m.html?item=333445711335&hash=item4da2e9c5e7%3Ag%3AaBgAAOSw1BlZUj5p&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
Or just read the ad before knee-jerking. The full list of bikes he can make chips for are in the ad itself. They also sell chips for a slew of cars.
If you need a dyno chart, just ask him for one, but he does remove the downrating of the motor. That's where the additional 15hp comes from.

And you trust everything in the manual? I had mine weighed by the shipping company before I sent it to the US with my move. At least for mine, the manual is wrong. _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.

Yes, that is a limitation of Google Translate on Chrome. You have to copy/paste to the Google Translate web page. I prefer to use DeepL instead for German. https://www.deepl.com/translator I was once told Google Translate made me sounded like anal orifice. _________________ To err once is human. Duck thanks for chiming in on that r75rt
Also the comment about buzzing was reassuring!
first off its more than $2k over blue book.
I'm used to bigger heavier bikes.
I was curious nonetheless. I'm stickin with the k1100.
Now all I need to do is get the seller to stay focused on selling the bike. He responds then nothing for a day or two. Then I have to wake him up.
Either he doesn't proof read some of his responses or his phone is auto correcting to a fault and I can't understand what he's tryin to say.
Kinda weird and funny at the same time. I'll keep at it. Hopefully we can get something done this weekend.
I'll keep ya'll posted. _________________ 78 GL 1000 naked. |
