I have a GPS tracker that works with a SIM card. I had it installed on a cheap scooter and it worked great but sucked up the battery if I left it sitting for too long. I would like to mount it on my 1995 K1100LT but I want it to get power only when the engine is running.
Where on the bike do you folks suggest I install it, and how? It needs to see satellites to it needs to be mounted somewhere without any metal between it and the sky. I am thinking on the underside of the right hand side glove compartment.

Today I installed the GPS tracker and found that it was very easy to splice the wires into the ones supplying power on the map light. The GPS tracker only sucks a few milliwatts so it's safe in that circuit. Plenty of room for the tracker behind that panel, just took a few screws to do the work. Now my bike has a well hidden GPS tracker that only works when the key is turned on and won't suck my battery dry. _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.
