A somewhat popular mod among tweakers of old Minis is to ditch the stock head and swap in a K bike head since it has much better exhaust flow.

Over the years I've sold several K bike heads to local Mini owners.

Thats mad.
Had a mini once.
Had a crack in the head which caused overheating.
