Our Blood Group has a fleet of them and I use one when on call. My routes are urban, motorway, and I usually take the nice scenic route home throught the twisting A roads. It's a good bike, and I was going to get one for touring, but the riding position was a little bit too far forward for me.
I believe there are issues with them not being able to take a top box due to inadequate rear frame strength, and this was bourne out to me when a riding colleague showed me the cracked frame on his personal FJR, (due to him fixing a top box)
I personally like the bike.

Thanks for the input.

In 2016 they added lean sensitive LEDs on the front that light up the turns at night. I like to ride at night and this gets pretty positive reviews. (On the K1600s the headlight actually turns but that seems like just something else to break to me. And probably not cheap being BMW.)

Interesting about the top case. Since it's the worst place to put weight (high and back) I try to minimize what I carry back there anyhow. If I do get an FJR I'll probably just use my 26 Liter Givi that I already use on my Ks.

I always keep the top box as light as possible, and when camping, the sleeping bag always goes in there, plus anything else I might need quickly.
