Need to order new con rod bearings.

How to determent what colour and STUFE level on the con rod bearings?
I cannot find any colour code anywhere in my engine to tell what bearing size that was fitted. (engine has never been opened before).
Can not find anything in the BMW service manual either.

Never broke open a K engine, but have done lots of others. The colors probably correlate to the journal size.

I'm assuming you'd have to pop the old bearings out to see if there is a part number on it. You'd have to have the crank sent out and turned if necessary and then order the appropriate bearing for the new journal size.

I would think Max's or someone could point you tot he right part number.

Yes, colour correlates to the size. However, cannot find information to what colour is what size. So even with the right measurements of the existing bearings I still do not know what PN/colour to order Crying or Very sad
There is no text / PN or anything on the old bearings. No colour dots on the crank, rods or bolts either.

Stufe level 1 or 0 I think are if the crank has been regrinded or not.

I ended up buying STUFE 0 in all colours and have the machineshop determent what colour to order more of.

I did not get a chance to measure on the greens that went in to the engine. But the two that was not used I measured with calibrated instruments:
(Tho the measurements trows me a bit of: I measured with a flat micrometer at the outer most edge of the micrometer at the edge of the 1/2moon. And with a calliper in the middle of the 1/2moon. And they have a small difference.

PN: 11 24 1 460 067: Bearing shell yellow - STUFE 0: Micrometer: 1,449mm calliper: 1,48mm
PN: 11 24 1 460 913: Bearing shell white - STUFE 0: Micrometer: 1.472mm calliper: 1.5mm

To bad I did not have any point micrometer. So this is the best meassurements that I could get out of it.

PS! You only get one 1/2 moon for each part nr you order. So for all rods you need to order 8.
