This new to me K1100 I just purchased has car tires installed and I’m sure the speedometer is off. BTW it’s ok as it’s a dedicated tug for the side car it’s attached to. So what should my rpm’s be at 50 mph? Also what size tire was on the bike originally?
Any recommendations on a book on the bike? Clymer still available?

What size tires are you running?

FYI: Even with factory tire sizes K speedos usually run about 10% fast.

Speedo healers work but throw off your main and trip odometers since they change the pulse count going to the cluster.

There's a potentiometer in the cluster you can adjust to calibrate your speedometer:

The Clymer is pretty good but the K1100s were added later so often are covered in supplemental later chapters.
