Hi all. Any of you good folk out there able to tell me the best way to remove exhaust gaskets from the manifold. These buggers seem to be well and truly bedded in. I'm new to the world of BMW and don't want to do any more damage than I have to. |

The copper exhaust gaskets can stick to the head if they haven't been off in a while, or ever. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to reach up and grab the gasket. I seem to remember one I had to use a small screw driver and pry against the head side to side to get it to release. Just be careful not to scratch sealing surfaces. I used a dab of silver anti-seize to hold the new copper gaskets up there while I installed the header. I sat the exhaust on a floor jack and raised it up, installed all four sets of exhaust nuts snug then installed the rear mounts. Once it was in place and everything snug I torqued everything. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

I replaced all of the studs and nuts, I think from Beemer Boneyard? I think they sold a hardware kit for it. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

put two nuts on the stubborn one and then heat it up and use the top nut to get it out. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
