Other than it is a trip that I have always wanted to do.

Have you received any info from their tourism department?

I know it might be a bit late, but they have some good brochures, etc.

I almost went there a few years ago. The one thing I remember was recommendations to take good rain gear.

You can probably find lots of good advice on ADVrider.com. That's where I'd look.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Good morning....

YES.... re scenery, great place to ride, but as Duck says, quality RAIN GEAR is a must,,,plus before you go, practice as much as possible riding on GRAVEL , both hard pack which the K1100 is almost OK on,,, but important is practice on loose gravel on which the K1100 is almost uncontrollable.! Secondly,, keep some "end of the day" 100 proof elixir in your pack. The campfires alone will not warm you enough for the next days ride, especially when its wet !!...as well as two 5-litr "Jerry Cans" for gas. CA-1 is a good ( not excellent) maintained roadway, BUT any of the few tiny off roads ( trails really ) can be a real challenge. Somewhere, keep the number for MAX Motors handy.... I dont know about Cell Service since I cant use cell phones, I assume they have it now ?? The national Parks are BEAUTIFUL beyond words.

That's about all I can tell you......I prefer Nova Scotia and New Brunswick !!

Have fun,,, Ride Safe,,,..../ Ernie in NH

Sad Sad

Good morning Jay....

I wanted to send you my Newfoudland notes and POIs from my adventure in 2000... but they've been hidden so well that even I cannot find them.. I distinctly remember weighing them down after I returned with a Tuna sandwich somewhere, but where ??

At any rate, its almost July and I wish you every success on this adventure. Just remember to bring warm layer-able clothing and rain gear.!

Ride Safe,,,, take a zillion pics, and post'em here when you get back !!

Best regards....../ Ernie in NH
