Hi all.
I sold a nice k100rt 8 years ago...
I am searching for a clean k100 16v...so i just went and saw one.
It was a nice ride, but i had too much false netrals...maybe it needs more positive shift.
Other issue is i can shift from 4th to 5th without clutch...many times i went from 3rd to 5th by accident..and i can downshift 5th to 4th without clutch also...you must be carefull with your right foot...
It doesnt smoke...pulls like train..and its smooth...no vibrating mirrors
Other issue is i put off a sparkplug to check...and it has oiled threads and very little on tip...but i revv the thing and no smoke....
I remember my old k100 had dead clean sparkplugs |

It's a K100RS 4V, not 16. Look at the spark plug cover if you don't believe me. (Just kidding.)
Downshifting false neutrals is THE typical symptom of clutch splines getting dry. It probably really needs a spline lube. If the false neutrals are that evident on a test ride then it may have been ridden like that for a while so a clutch job or at least a new clutch plate could be needed in the near future or, worse yet, the clutch splines strip and strand you.
The oily plug threads are a little suspicious but not a deal breaker.
I'd walk away because of the clutch risk though. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Yes, you are right...and i most worried about 4th gear...when i preload the shifter for a good shift.. it just ..jumps in 5th without clutch..not even a clack sound... |

The whole thing doesn't sound like it smells right.
There's plenty of fish in the sea.
And I assume you want a rider, not a summer project. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
