Hi Mick

A BIG thanks from Sweden too.
Just what I neededm has a -94 K11LT that will not rew abowe 3krpm, regardless of gear and torque.
Was wery close to ask it there are any adepter to OBD II, but there are no need for it now. Or are there any adepter to OBD II?

Even if I can't ride it at the moment ( no spiketyres ), I can always check the codes.

Sven-Erik,
That sounds a lot like low fuel pressure. Does it idle OK?
Can't hurt to check the codes.

First, thanks so much for collating the info in the OP - marvellous stuff.

Just to be clear (and please forgive my ignorance), to get a fault code for ABSII, I need to ground pin#2 of the diagnostic plug, turn on the ignition and count the flashes on the temp light below the tacho? Or am I missing something?

Rob,
Go back to page one and read it carefully. You need the test LED to read-out the ABS faoults. The temp lamp only displays Motronic faults on K-bikes.

Thanks Mick. Late reply but I was just referring someone else to this thread and remembered. I did read it carefully. It is a bit (tiny bit) hard to follow as you aren't sure whether you are reading ABSI or ABSII instructions but the best thing is to just try it. It works! That's the main thing. I have rarely felt such joy as waiting those 30 seconds of re-set. Firing up and seeing (and hearing) everything work just fine. Who'd have thought ABSII hydro relays would unstick themselves?

Rob,
Glad you were sucessful in resetting your ABSII. The relays probably were not stuck, just needed the reseet to operate properly.

Mick

Just in case other people are having problems clearing the 1133 as I was.

I was always getting code 1133 when I tested the motronic on my 1991 K100RS 16v.

This is how i finally cleared it.

After getting the 1133 code I cranked the engine for a few seconds with the sidestand down and without turning off the ignition. The LED goes out and only comes back on when I earth the #1 switch. I had to try connecting and disconnecting for five seconds a few times before it finally accepted it and gave me code 4444.

I was cranking with the sidestand down, then putting it up, then grounding the pin.

Thanks for the very useful information.

I was able to clear the error successfully with the aid of a diagnostic system like this: https://www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com/BMW-K-1100-RS-and-LT/Tools/GS911-3-pin-Diagnostic-Equipment.html

Why pay the $150 in that advert when the hexcode site sells it for $99?

For no apparent reason, at the start of a ride last week my ABS-II lights began to flash alternately again. And yes, there was that whine from under the saddle. "hydro relays stuck again" I yelled in frustration. So went through the diagnostic and reset (eventually, having found and fixed a broken wire on the ABS reset switch on the handlebars). The fault persisted but a few clouts with a screwdriver handle on the relay housing seemed to free it. So all's good again.

The first time, I was fairly sure my old battery was the culprit for causing the hydro relays to stick on. Now, with a 15 month old battery in pretty good nick and showing full charge, I have no idea what the cause was. UNLESS it was an intermittent contact or inadvertent ground on the broken wire of the ABS handlebar switch. Is it even possible that could give a bad voltage reading to the control unit and cause the relay to stick???

The good news it is happens close to home and I'm getting the battery removal drill down to a fine art.

Finally, I should add that I seem to send quite a few people to this page from the "BMW-K motorcycles K1 k75 k100 k1100 (purists)" Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/651763108350724/ who find it and http://largiader.com immensely useful. Thanks to all concerned.
