Thanks again.
Got 2nd hand unit from Motorworks today.
£125 + studs, gaskets and rubber bits.
As against £600 for Remus.
I'm in Ireland 552255, so Nebraska a bit far to ship
But thanks anyway. _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |

The heat shield on my own is better than the s. hand.
Is it possible/easy to change it?? _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |

It's mounted on the lower mid left transmission bolt. Not too hard to get to when you have the exhaust off. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Apologies - I meant the chrome cover on the muffler.(can/silencer )
It seems to be held on by pop rivets.
Can't have people thinking I did the damage
And there's a fibre washer on the bracket at the box.
Spose it stops the rubber mount getting cooked. _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |

Thanks Jim
4 studs on the bits box - 4 studs in head.
One won't move I reckon, took a lot of pull to get nut off.
Just studying joints in pipes - 2 broken off. The pipes aren't welded all around at all in original. The centre of the group is open!!!
Tried to get chrome cover off no move.
Must be on with heat. I ground the old one inside and can see the second metal underneath.
Have new - nuts studs gaskets rubber bits. _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |

All back on.
Had to clean out sockets for studs as new wouldn't
go in. Old ones would only go into one socket.
Thanks for all the help
Still couldn't get chrome cover off. _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |
