|
|
HI,
I scored a very new original tank bag for my K1100RS, I tried fitting it on and played around with it for ages thinking that both straps were new and stiff, even adjusted and bent the end clips a little to make it hold, but boy I thought is was just a little to tight..
Then I searched and found out about the 2 x clips/hooks that attach to the tank on each side.
Does anyone have a spare or old set you want do not use anymore and would like to sell, haven't look on a BMW site for new parts, thought I'd ask here first.
Willing to pay postage to OZ
Many thanks once again _________________ Cheers Grant

These clips are getting very hard to find as they have been discontinued for some time. I found a set from Morton's BMW ( in Maryland IIRC) Google them. |

Just curious:
Tank bag clips are not high tech, even though their shape may be idiosyncratic. If you have one -- or a model of one -- why don't you see if you could either fabricate an acceptable substitute or else find a substitute on some other product that would otherwise do the job?
Just muttering as old guys do...

Gidday Larry,
That's my next option mate if all else fails, I have a couple of old angle brackets here that have held up and could rehash to suit.
I'll see what happens but hey, nothing beats an original item on a bike _________________ Cheers Grant

Grant,
I sorted through the cobwebs and mouse droppings downstairs today.
I found a complete kit in my BMW parts cupboard.
I'll get them in the post to you on Tuesday.
cheers,
Andrew |
