I'm having one hell of a time trying to mount a new PR4 on my '97 K11LT. Does anyone have a method that has worked well for them? |

High volume air supply, 3/8" hose or larger, core out of the valve stem, hose end fitting without the core depressor in it.
The 1st 2 times I've tried to mount up one of this size I ended up at a regular tire shop with the high flow air source. _________________ Ride safe.

Warning, don't try this yourself.
Take the core out of the valve stem, squirt about 5 seconds of starting fluid into the tire (between the tire and rim), then lean back and use a grill lighter to ignite it.
You get a satisfying WHUMP followed by the whistle of the tire running out the valve stem.
Reinstall the core and fill it up. I took mine to two tire shops, and the local motorcycle shop and no one could seat it. Check youtube, you'll find seating the bead videos to show you how. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

Or, if you don't have access to high volume air, and you don't want to use starting ether, use a ratchet strap around the center of the tire, draw it in enough to get the bead touching the rim, and air it up. _________________ Jim

I had a car tire shop try one of those "bead seater" tanks, no dice.
I've personally tried the ratchet strap, but the short sidewalls of the 150/70 were too stiff/short, I couldn't get enough flex on both sides to get an air tight seal. _________________ Ride safe.

The bead seater is very particular on pressure, too much pressure blows the tire back off the rim.
sometimes less is more _________________ Mike Currin

Hi Dave,
If you mean fitting the actually tyre/rim back onto the bike I had to remove the rear caliper and sit it aside for the PA4 to fit on past the exhaust and even then it was a tight fit mate.
If its fit tyre to rim, sorry the bike shop does that for me mate _________________ Cheers Grant
