Here are some pictures and basic info regarding the Spiegler brake line kit installed on my '94 K1100RS.

I meant to do a write up about these ages ago, but I'm fairly adept at procrastinating when I get around to it.* Rolling Eyes

I purchased the S-BM0109 kit in November 2011, then installed the lines several months later in 2012. (*Exhibit B) I have had zero issues with them, and think they look quite nice with my black/gray/graphite K. (or whatever the hell Paint Code 670 is)

I ordered the "Smoke" colored lines, which are a translucent gray and opted for the matching "Titanium" colored ends. Color matched bolts were extra $$ unfortunately, but I went with it anyway since I saw little point in skipping that detail after shelling out the money for the colored ends.

See below for more pics than necessary: [or not Embarassed ]

[Imagine many pretty pics here, for which the links died along with my photo hosting account. I'll repost eventually if anyone shows interest.]

Apparently I missed or lost the comparison shot of front MC to hard lines. My apologies for the incompetent level of OCD.

[several more pics were here...oooh shiny.]

Zero issues experienced on installation. Just make sure you use the little blue plastic tools to twist the front banjos as needed to clear your tire.

Spendy, but I'm thinking I'm done with brake line needs for some time.

[further imagine an unnecessarily large number of photos of the receipt detailing price breakdown as of my order date on 11/11/11.]

Tschüß.

[Edited Aug 2017 to remove dead links to photos.]

I will never disagree that I need to ride more, but that state of sparkle was due to it having been cleaned while in pieces to overhaul several things back then. I assure you it is now sufficiently mucky for your approval. Razz

Later, FD.

Where are you in WA? I may be tempted to come by and check out your grime level in person...

You should be. Their brake lines come with a lifetime warranty.

This thread is very encouraging to me, because I need to do the same thing to my '95 K1100RS.

I just had new spiegler lines installed on my '96 LT, based in part on this post. I had the work done at my local BMW shop because I'm not much of a mechanic. They look so much better than the rubber lines (I ordered the exact same color scheme), and I am happy to no longer worry about the condition of my 20 year old brake lines. For my peace of mind alone, it was worth the investment.

FYI: Motobins in the UK also sells SS brake lines. The call them hoses.

They don't have a kit so you have to buy them one by one but they're 19.50 pounds each.

As long as you keep the weight low enough to go by regular mail and avoid FedEx (FedEx is a customs pain so you definitely want to avoid them) then stuff gets to the US in about a week to ten days.
