Hi Guys, After some help. I'm a bit of a noob so please bare with me, I will be removing the abs from my 1994 lt. Trying to workout what I do with the brake lines. From other forums/posts as far as I can tell I can use the rear brake hose and it wont need changing, but with the front I will need a new hose. My question is can I use a brake hose from an older none abs model k100, i would prefer to be able to order one rather than expense of custom made one in my area. Be great if someone has a part # or knows of somewhere I could get one. Also any advice on removing the abs would be greatly appreciated.

Attached is a picture of my bike i'm nearly half way there.

Use the search feature at the top of the screen.

Enter this exact phrase (with the spaces) remove AND abs

or just click on this: http://k11og.org/forum/search.php?search_id=1197652672&start=0

Lots of knowledge and info.

Most likely you will need to make a custom steel line to bypass the ABS modulator. IIRC with the older NON abs bikes the brake was routed thru the steering head stock, that wasn't an option with the 1100's.

That early K100 brake line through the steering head was IMO a horrible design.

If the bike were originally a K1100RS then you could use a line from the master to the splitter from a non-ABS K100RS4V in the fender but the K1100LT splitter is different so you will probably need a custom line.

Hi I have 3 k1100s and have removed the abs from all of them . I have used a braided line that came from motobins on one and had a short piece of steel line with 2 male ends made up that allows you to join the existing lines , most brake reconditioning shops can do it cheap. also you can remove all the wiring from the abs you will need a wiring diagram and plenty of time to trace all the wires using the colour codes .
