Gidday folks
I am wanting to know how to easily disconnect and stop the abs 2 dash lights from flashing alternatively? is there a fuse to pull?
basically I am taking my bike in for a roadworthy certificate and then registration next week, all is completed and working great but the abs still flashes so I want to removed the issue as the local mechanic will be none the wiser for it.
I have only done 200kms "around the block" since I brought the bike back in march, everything is roadworthy now, most things replaced with new but the flashing lights still remain a mystery to me.
I have brought a spare "working" abs 2 pump but will get around to fitting it up at a later date.
They will be reconnected once registered as I want the abs to work but I can live without them for the moment.
Any help would be great _________________ Cheers Grant

If you are sure you have ABS2, ('93s came with ABS 1), the easiest way is to pull the warning relay from inside the electrical box under the gas tank.
If you have ABS1, you will have to remove 2 relays.

Gidday,
Yep it has ABS 2 - the bike is a 10th month 1993 so ABS 2 just came on board mid year.
Many thanks for the pictures of what is located where.
I will have a look at the bike this weekend and get it sorted.
Thanks for you time and talk to you soon _________________ Cheers Grant

To stop the flashing on the second ABS warning lamp, disconnect the ABS ECU multiconnector.

Gidday Folks,
I wandered out to the shed before and pulled out the fuse and disconnected the ABS ECU multiconnector and both lights stopped flashed on start up.
So now with my ABS 2 basically dead but all still intact, a silly question I know to ask you people but I gather it is all safe to ride? and my standard brakes will work just fine as a normal non ABS fitted bike would Y/N
Also will it hurt or damage the end of the ECU multiconnector to just sit there undone, slightly apart but although it is tight and not flopping around, or can this short out in anyway at all..
As you can tell, myself and electrical issues just don't get along.
Thanks for taking the time to answer, its very much appreciated _________________ Cheers Grant

Won't make any difference to your brakes - as before you just won't have ABS. If you are concerned about the connector, put some electrical tape over the connector that you removed.
Have you tried to get an error reading from the ABS and reset it? http://www.largiader.com/abs/absfault.html might be a helpful resource. Worked for me a while ago when my lights kept flashing. _________________ David, owner of:

One issue to keep in mind, depending on who does you MOT inspection, and how thorough, they may notice the plug disconnected and inquire about it.......just an fyi..... _________________ Ride safe.

Gidday Folks,
many thanks for the info, again its very handy to know and yes I have tried all the codes but it still flashes, so I must be doing something wrong and with the aussie summer coming on I just want to register the bike now and ride it, so this will be a long term fixer that I will play with and try different things as I go.
I will sit the connector so that it looks not so suspect for the mechanic to hopefully miss.. _________________ Cheers Grant
