I seem to have found another consumable on my bike. The second left side windshield lever has recently broken.

Replacing the first one was a bit fiddly but not too difficult. I don't often move the windshield, anyone have a remedy for my problem?

Interesting,,,, I seem to remember OTG breaking a couple of those arms too. Not sure what the end result was before he sold the bike.

Hey Bob,
Has it been taken apart befor it broke the first time?
I'm not sure but it seems like its been put together with more "travel" on one side? If thet makes sence to you?
Does anyone lean on the windshield when they "chat with you at the gas station "or anything like that? When you reassemble it be sure it's all the way up or down.
By the way Bob,what was wrong with your bike when it would die or cut off when you still wanted to ride? Keith.

Kieth, if I recall correctly it ended up being the Ignition Amplifier.
A "hold-over" part from the k100's. It's a part that's only on the '93 1100's. Which is why most of us missed it in our suggestions........ Rolling Eyes

There is an odd lateral adjusting screw and lock nut on the left side windshield lever. Perhaps I didn't have it properly set after installing the first one. Going to try harder this time, it's a thirty five dollar part.

Scott remembered my other issue correctly. Ignition amplifier needed new paste between it and the battery box which it is mounted on.

How 'bout this Midwest weather, lets keep those wheels a rollin'.

It's a good idea to annually lubricate the rods that the windscreen levers travel on with silicone lubricant. (because it traps less dust than other stuff like WD-40 or whatever)

The LT owners manual recommends not adjusting the windscreen when moving.
