I have recently bought a 1995 k1100rs and wondered if any one has any views on bar risers coming from a gs it's taking some getting used to.
Thanks |

Welcome, Gary. When I bought my '94 RS it had risers on it. It just never felt right, despite me coming from a more upright standard position for years prior to that. I've never put any significant miles on a GS to help with your direct comparison, however.
I took them off and find it much better suited to this bike. I also replaced the bar mount rubbers and did the "washer mod" to firm up the handling quite a bit. I'm now much happier with the stock position but without the mushy bars.
I think they might have been tolerable had I firmed up the bars prior to removal, but they just seemed to give a tad too much extra leverage to an overly soft steering setup. _________________ Niemand
