Does anyone know the cfm and amp draw from the stock fan? With the heat we have out here in the summer I wanted to see if I could replace it with something that moves more cfm, or has anyone changed theirs out and seen an improvement in cooling?

Thanks,

Don't stop!

Seriously though I have ridden in 100F+, even up to 110F days a lot recently and the standard fan worked fine, you sure there's isn't something else wrong with the cooling system?

Having a higher volume fan will not cool any lower in temp as it's controlled by the thermostat and temp switch, but could cool it down faster. Maybe try to locate another temp sensor which cuts the fan in at a lower temp, although that might change the info the computer gets for engine management and fuel economy. Confused

I haven't added the manual fan switch yet and this may be the next project. I do understand that it will not cool the engine any lower in temp as that is all dependent on the thermostat but I was hoping for it to cool down a little faster than it does now and what it has done in the past.

I guess I will need to pull the fan and check its operation. This seemed to start when I did a coolant change last year with your basic auto antifreeze instead of the blue BMW coolant. Not that it should make a difference.

Thanks,
