Mystc Red (the fastest color) 1996 K1100LT For Sale
26,xxx miles
I have too many toys and not enough time to enjoy everything.
Mechanically, everything on this bike is perfect. It's all original with the exception of an Odyssey battery, a wired intercom system that I don't think is OEM, and a Corbin seat. The original tool kit is still complete and in good condition. Heck, even the BMW AM/FM cassette player still works.
Cosmetically, there are some issues. The bike has been dropped several times at zero forward speed and there are some scratches remaining as a result of these drops. The side cases are sun faded and there are a few scratches here and there.
I know there are different versions of the 1100LT and I'm not sure what to call this one, but it's the version that has the side bags painted the same color as the bike (Mystic Red).
The price is $4000 (firm).
I would be happy to deliver the bike within 500 miles for expenses or could arrange for a low cost plane ticket for you to come get the bike. I live in Loveland, Colorado which is about 50 miles north of Denver.
I'm away from home right now, so pictures will have to wait until I get back to my computer.

I finally took time to wash my bike and take some pictures. I took 63 pics this evening so if anyone wants a close-up of a particular part, I've probably got it and can send it via email.
I'll probably put it on Craigslist later this evening if I don't get called in to work. Give me a call if you're interested. _________________ 1996 K1100LT 26,xxx miles-SOLD

I just put together an ad for the Denver Craigslist. It's got more information and a bunch of stuff that you guys don't need to hear, but here it is anyway:

I think you need another... For when your first one wears out. Bring money and I'll meet you halfway tomorrow!
...although I have to admit I'm having second thoughts about selling it today. It's about 75 degrees here with a light breeze and hardly a cloud in the sky. I'm looking for excuses to ride anywhere today instead of finishing the electrical wiring in my basement finish project at home!

PS. Just updated the Craigslist URL in my previous post. The first one was a bad address. _________________ 1996 K1100LT 26,xxx miles-SOLD

Ok. I've lowered the price.
$3500 gets it.
Haven't changed the Craigslist ad yet. You guys get first shot at it.

| Quote: | | People have different philosophies when selling stuff. Price it high and negotiate or cut to the chase and price it at what you'd accept and stand firm. I'm doing that second thing. My price is $4000 and it'll be $4000 until (and if) I decide to lower it. If you want to dicker, consider the price $4500 and negotiable. I'll only accept cash and it doesn't really matter to me whether it's cash today or cash a week from today. I'm not lowering the price because you say "cash today". I'm actually a really nice guy and will talk your ear off if you let me, but please don't try to screw me around. I really have no patience for that and can become pretty nasty pretty quick |
LOVE this part of your ad!
I am trying to sell one of my wife's bikes and everyone wants to trade some POS junky car for it. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Might be a little off-putting for some folks, I guess, but I'm no salesman and never claimed to be!
My brother is a realtor and always cringes when he reads my ads. If I were smart, I'd just turn everything over to him and let him do the selling. I'm not that smart, either. Apparently... _________________ 1996 K1100LT 26,xxx miles-SOLD

I'm pretty sure my beloved K bike is sold. The new buyer sent me a deposit earlier in the week and final payment should arrive shortly. Unless something goes wrong, which I doubt because the guy has been very good to deal with so far, I think it's sold.
I don't know if the new buyer is signed up as a member here or not, but he's a member of the BMW owners association and I know he at least visits this site because that's where he initially saw the ad.
I'll encourage him to become a regular (and post pictures) because I certainly have enjoyed and appreciated this group.
Best regards to all. _________________ 1996 K1100LT 26,xxx miles-SOLD
