I have a '96 K1100RS and have noticed that the triangle warning light has started to flicker very weakly during a ride. If I hit either brake even a little it will stop for a while but then start again. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

| Check the connections in the brake light bulb holder for corrosion, also check the bulb itself. |

When I got that, I retinned the connections on the bulb with some fresh solder, which being malleable gets indented & also tarnished.
Also as the bulb gets older the filament resistance rises enough to make the BMU trip.
Should you decide on replacement, ensure that you get a 10Watt bulb, often shop staff assume it is a 5watt, fitting this, too could trip the BMU. _________________ Regards Tim,

Good call gentlemen. A shot of contact cleaner and all is well. Thanks so much as the bulb is not what I would have thought of. I expected the solution to much more complex.

Note to self, read the post properly. I was talking about the side light which is 10 Watts. Still it matters not, TexasT sorted it & at little cost. _________________ Regards Tim,
