Hi everyone
I have now sold the R1100s and the K1200s.
thought I,d let u know I have a couple of new bikes I,m now playing with
!) BMW R90/6 1974 just waiting now for the paint work to come back . I have cleaned this bike up and fitted new sat, exhaust, tyres.
2)A poor mans BMW. 2007 BMW F800st only 16000kms I,m finding this to be a fun light bike good for the twisty roads. and so economical to run.

F800ST 460#/210kg full of gas vs.
K1100RS 625#/285kg
K1100LT 675#/310kg
Figures from TotalMotorcycle.com
Mostly one up travel? Lighter is easier.
Good luck with the new bikes. (I will miss the sound of your R1100S, though) _________________ John & Cathy

!!
Good morning Darryl..
Congrats on the new bikes... I'm not "wild" about the F800, BUT the R90 looks great !! As an Airhead owner and rider myself, I know the real fun these older bikes can be, both on the road and in the shop. Be sure to keep the splines lubed, the electrics in sound condition, and the "f*ken" Bing carbs balanced. You can also join the world of other Airheads on the Airlist at ""www.micapeak.com" where there is no shortage of communication relative to maintaining these old machines. Parts in NZ may be a tad harder to come by, but MOTOBINS has all you need in addition to our friends at Max Motorcycles..
Good luck, ride safe, AND say "G'day" to Edington when/if you ever see him.

G'day Ernie, I'm still around but don't seem to have as much leisure time as that bloke up north of me, I reckon he as to much time and money on his hands
I agree with you regarding the old airheads, they are just great to ride and really nice to work on, I've just finished a cosmetic rebuild on a 1975 R75/6, bought it off a local guy who had it from new, he bought it in the UK from Gus Kunn in London, did a trip around Europe then brought it back to NZ, sadly he's not to well these days and decided to sell it after it had been stood for around 10 years, but it's looking well now
I really love getting out on my ex US R75/5 Toaster (Ella) its just a joy to ride, it just gallops along at its own pace and I just sit there and enjoy the view but I know what you mean about the "f*ken" Bing carbs, I put a pair of 34m/m flat slide Mikunie's on my G/S and have never have to touch them since I put them on and set them up
Cheers and Safe Riding,
Paul. _________________ Paul & Gill
