I'm the one in the picture. I'm on a 1994 K1100LT with a California Sidecar Friendship III. The picture is before I made a few changes including more front lighting and a couple of extra gas tanks (total gas = 25 gal). I like very long distance riding (Alaska). I am currently upgrading another K11 to a K1112 - a K1100LT with a 2004 K1200GT engine, fuel and electrics. I have even converted the clutch to the K12 hydraulic clutch. If you are interested, I am always open to sharing info.

WidIrish,
I'd be interested in whatever information you would share on the K12 swap, particularly the electronics and fuel. Did you use the K12 throttle bodies?
A K12 motor swap has been on my list of things to do for awhile.
I have a K11RS with an EML sidecar, you can see it here

while you are there check out our high performance sidecar forum, its been a little slow lately but lots of good information.

Hi Mike,
Email me offline and I will send you my phone number and we can talk. I am also putting together a log with pictures regarding the conversion. I'm not completly done with the conversion, but all the major stuff is complete. Yes, I did use the K12 throttle bodies and computer. The throttle bodies were the easy part including using the K1100LT air box with some minor modifications. I'm also going to be using the K12 right and left hand grips and multifunction switches, instrument cluster, and cruise control. I feel the way I've gone on this is much easier than trying to use the K1100 electrics.

Look forward to talking with you.
