I could have sworn some folks here have a fender extender on an K1100 RS?
I e-mailed the Fenda Extenda people and they say they never made one, and of course don't plan to either. I understand, just wish I had one.
Anyone out there got a home grown fix? _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Looks like you found it, Steve. It doesn't cost that much to get one shipped over. That's the same company that makes the extenda for the LT. I don't know why the US retailers aren't selling for the RS. _________________ Jim

Beemer Boneyard recently added the Fenda Extenda to their inventory:
http://www.beemerboneyard.com/fe05401.html
Looks like $30 for the K1100RS one. (model 05401)
I found it because I look for the NLA OEM version every now and then. (BMW part# 46611469330)
This is the one I am referring to, if others would like a nice wild goose chase as well:

Hi Niemand,
I've been meaning to get back to this thread. I emailed the good folks at Pyramid (the one in your first link) - they don't make an extender for the RS - and apparently don't plan to.
The second link you posted shows an extender for a K75/K100 that also fits the LT - no mention of the RS.
Sorry guys - looks like RS extenders are unobtanium. _________________ Jim

Ahh, sorry for the misinformation then, folks. I was under the impression that the K75/K100 model fit the K1100RS also as stated on the boneyard site. I thought it was supposed to fit all 2 piece fenders of that line, but never looked into thoroughly, as I find it a tad fuglier than the OEM unobtanium bit.
Edit: If you look closely at the OEM paperwork, you will see it say "NOT for LT." _________________ Niemand

Oddly enough, just an hour or two after posting the above, I scored an OEM fender extension on eBay. I'll follow up on fitment results after it arives. Given the intended bikes, I would assume if mine fits then the Pyramid ones should as well. (And not take years to find) _________________ Niemand

I'm going to stir the pot a little further. Who says an RS front fender (the rear end of it) is different than the 100 or 75's? I'd imagine Duck could tell us.
Here's a picture of the rear end of my RS front fender. Looks a lot like the squarish cut of the extenda fenda.
Can anyone post a pic of the rear end of a K100/75 fender?
Beemer Boneyard does specifically list the K1100RS as a fitting model.
I'm going to take the $30 plunge and order the one from Beemer Boneyard and see what happens! I've made far more expensive mistakes in my life. Then I'll post up the results and we'll put this myth to bed, or not....
(edit: make that the $38 and change plunge, shipping...)

Hey Sugar, you've got a K100, can you post up a pic of the rear end of your fender?
I'll report my findings when it arrives. _________________ Steve

Steve,
My bike is a 1992 K100RS4V. The '90-92 4 valve K-RS is much closer to the K1100RS than the '84-89 K100RS.
If you look at the MaxBMW fiche, your K1100RS and my K100RS have the same part # for the "front mudgard, rear". But the earlier 2V K100RS has a different part#.
However, if you want I will take pictures and accurate dimensions of my fender. Snow is here and my K bike is living on the lift for the next few months.
Lemme know.

Snow? Is that the white fluffy stuff I've heard about? It was 73 here today (but only 55 tomorrow )
I guess I'll find out soon enough about this fender extender, it's on it's way! _________________ Steve

I got the eBay find OEM version in the mail this weekend. I haven't mounted it yet, but holding it in place shows it is a definite fit on the K1100RS.
Missing the double-sided tape and plastic screws/spikes, but in great shape.

Details on back:

As seen from rear of front fender:
(fit will obviously be better mounted rather than held by ham-hands.)

3/4 Profile of sorts to show the shape of this version:

I realize the above is not completely relevant to whether or not the Pyramid version will work, but hopefully it will help someone looking at both options in the future.

I'm sorry, but that says for "show purposes only", so you'll need to send that to me asap, least you violate any local laws... _________________ Steve

I'll risk it. That's the best part, actually. Once I get that puppy installed... Bam! Instant "show bike"...hehe. _________________ Niemand

I just received my Pyramid fender extender from Beemer Boneyard and I can report that an initial dry fitting shows that it does fit!
Now keep in mind my bike is an early model, '93, and so I can't vouch for any later models, but the one they list for K75/K100 K1100RS does indeed fit.
I wish I would have known this years ago, I'd already have one on and saved some belly pan wear and tear.
I'll post up a full install post with complete pics when I put it on soon.

I had a chance to install the Extenda Fenda tonight. Here are a few pics…
The plastic was a bit thinner than I had imagined, but it is pretty rigid.
Installation was pretty straight forward. They recommended leaving the fender in place while installing, but I thought it would make the installation a lot easier to line up if the fender were off the bike. You only need to remove the black center cover between the front and rear sections and then remove one 10mm bolt at the top and loosen, but don’t remove the two side 10mm cap nuts. You might have to put an open end box wrench on the other end, right up against the tire, if the cap nuts just spin. Lift gently upward and the whole piece comes right off.
Then I gave the fender a good cleaning and did a dry fitting before removing the sticky tape paper. Line it up carefully and then work from the center out giving the edges a good squeeze.
I then marked some drill hole locations with a sharpie. Drill 3mm pilot holes and insert the provided screws and tighten up gently. Don’t use a drill to drive the screws or you might strip out the holes.
I wasn’t real happy about having these sharp edges riding so close to my tire, so I cut off the ends with a dremel cutting wheel.
Re-install everything in reverse order, about a half hour total installation time. Very simple on the difficulty scale, if you don't mind drilling through your fender! They do reference a glue on method with a super heavy duty adhesive, but they don't reccomend it. The screws are stainless steel and match well with the stainless fastener kit I have on the rest of the bike.
All in all it looks nice, fits well and will hopefully spare my poor belly pan some of the damage and reduce the road debris that ends up in the belly pan.
And best of all, there now is a fender extender for the RS!!!!
