Well, after 2 1/2 years and 50k miles, I thought I'd update this thread. Approx 3 weeks ago, the S was tipped over into river flood water while running, water was sucked, engine was grenaded. The bike was officially totalled yesterday, and a low mile 2010 S1000RR is now in my garage. I'm not mad at the person who dropped it, just sad at the loss of my baby. I was well on track to have over 100K on this bike before the extended warranty ran out. It was a wonderful machine, the best road bike I've yet owned |

Sorry to hear about that, Shawn. You let someone else ride it??? What the hell were they doing that close to a flooded river???
Ah well, it'll give us something to look at when you bring it to HM V...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Sean,
That was my favorite bike at the 2010 HM. And it was the only modern K in the OG.
So sorry to hear about the disaster.

Here's my new beast, it has a little over 7.5k on it. Not much I can say about the RR that hasn't been said

Now I guess that the R1100S will be collecting dust. _________________ John & Cathy

You may have a new favorite road bike. When I was in Redmond, OR last year a guy had come across the country on one those and absolutely loved the ride.
Enjoy the ride. _________________ '93 K1100LT

I'm still in mourning for your K1200S Sean.
As you might know by now- I do have this deep (wacko?) desire to ride something new-er every few months. Hmmm.... _________________ John & Cathy

I'm still in disbelief at the whole incident, and how fast the process ended. Less than six hours after it was declared a total loss, I was riding home on the new bike. Crazy! So far, the S1000 is a very comfortable bike for me. I very well might ride it out East next spring! Hmmm...

They don't make many CF replacement parts & accessories for the RR, do they
This looks like a farkler's dream.
