So far, it is pretty great! Had a great ride from Edinboro Pa. to Pgh on my first evening with the bike. A long ride yesterday to New Castle, PA,. avoided the storms, but rode home at night on wet roads with plenty of fog....no fears no problems. Sunny, clear and warm today found me on the highway going to work, very fast, super handling , makes me very confident around big trucks and dumb drivers! One question - there is oil on both forks, seems like they leak. Service was done on them last year. I suppose it has to be done again, real soon? Any particular danger in that condition? Also - should I press the BMW shop about hos quickly the seals leaked since b eing replaced, (by them) last year? might make the bill less painful..
any comments or advice is welcome!
thanks,
jeff

You could press the shop, but I doubt that it would make any difference.
My(and many others) recomendation for the next seal change is to install some fork boots to protect the fork sliders from bugs and dirt that are the usual culprets for causing fork seal leaks.
You can get generic fork boots, Rancho 1952, is a inexpensive option that you can get online as well as maybe a local truck accessory shop.

I would definitely let the shop know about the faulty fork seals. There's no reason you should accept subpar workmanship.

Good suggestion above for fork boots. If you want something more modern looking, take a look at Traxxion Dynamics fork guards. The ones for a Suzuki GSX will fit a K11. Search the topic here on K11OG for photos and more info.

Jeff,

Did the last "service" include changing the seals or was it just doing new fork oil?

If the seals were done last year, they should have lasted MUCH longer than a year. Could be some rough surface on the upper leg- something to look into before you do new seals and they start leaking also.
