Not certain that the SS switch is the culprit, but if you want to bypass it, go here. Sorry, you have to copy the whole URL in.

It's really, really, really unlikely to be the computer. It's really, really, really likely to be the tank connector, the sidestand switch, or the fuel pump itself.
Your posts are bit difficult to follow, but it sounds like you got the pump running outside the tank but it doesn't run in the tank, right? That means the pump is probably good. Check the tank connector and the sidestand switch. You'll need a test light or an electrical multitester (aka VOM) to test them. If the connector and switch are good, you can use the multitester to find out where the current is, or isn't, going.
If you don't have one, or you don't know how to use it, your work is now done. Take the bike to someone who knows electrical stuff before you empty your wallet on parts you don't need and still end up with a non-running bike. _________________ '93 K1100RS

Steve also had intermittent fuel pump problems caused by a bad wire where they physically entered the tank on the bottom side.
If I'm not mistaken he had to replace the fuel level sender assy as it's one piece all molded with the wires. _________________ Ride safe.

well i believe i have come to figure out what is going on and that is that the fuel sending unit is faulty there is power going to it but not the pump. could it possibly be the same bug that killed my pump... _________________ 87 k75 31,000 "Blackcash" |

As Scott pointed out, skdonlan had the same or a very similar issue.
Is your original pump dead? _________________ Jim
