Recently i put a new pump filter , plugs and fuses on and charged the battery. I hooked it all up and its turning over but will not start. I pulled the fuel line off the rail and attempted to start it and no fuel at all is comoing out could it be the injection realay the fuel sending unit or the injection computer which should I start with first ? Frustrated in VA Confused

You hear the fuel pump running?

If that's running you should get something, even a dribble.

Unless your filter plugged again already.

If the pump is not running, kill switch first, then the poer connector to the tank, then relay.

Check the sidestand switch. That or the tank connector are common culprits. A broken killswitch suggests someone got angry at it, probably because it didn't start.

The fuel filter is directional. You did fit it in the right direction, did you? You haven't told us anything further; does the pump run or not?

They will work in either direction, just better and last longer in the correct flow direction.

Least ways I read that some where, never tried it but it makes sense.

the only to possible areas if no power would be the sending unit or the injector computer right?

The connector under the right side cover.

Try that first.

Then the side stand switch, check it and make sure it's functioning.

Seeig what you startd with, I think it's the connector.

It was working before you did that right?

well see the bike sat unused for a year i bought it from a guy so i have not even heard it run yet .but he said the last time he started it it did i did accidently break one of the snap connectors on the clip for the sending unit. the connector on the right side you spoke of was for the sending unit right?

It's really not a sending unit, but that connector supplied the power to the fuel pump.

When you just turn the key on you should hear the pump whine/engage run for a few seconds.

No whine, no gas.

You got no gas.

Check that connector, I'm betting that's the issue.

Some folks here have cut that off & used a trailer hitch connector & re-wired it.

good idea ill try it but could it possibly be a faulty connection on the inside of the tank also?

Inside the tank?

Oh baby jeebus I hope not for your sake.

But yeah, check the pin connector under right side cover. If it's damaged and needs replacing, just try a manual splice first of the wires to see if you get power.

If it powers & runs, there ya go.

If it still will not work, then check all the connections and try again and double check the fuses again.

Then work out the other items. SS switch, then kill switch.

well I have checked the connection for the fuel pump inside and out side the tank the pump is running . But still no pressure on the rail so i'm figuring its in the wiring harness or the computer, this is getting frustrating but I love my bike so i'm gonna keep digging.

well i have never claimed to be the smartest person but i finally unlocked the gas cap and stuck my ear to it and no power to the pump...ummmmmm the relay is good from looking at it so it must be the connector on the right side or the electrical component inside on the unit .

I think also the side stand cut out switch. Check that first to make sure the switch is closed with side stand up.
Or by pass it with a jumper wire.
There is a pic of that somewhere in here.
