Tuesday after xmas looked like it might stop raining so Darty, Levo and I headed south out of the 40 days and nights of rain into NSW. Levo promptly set the theme of the day by dropping the argy off the side stand needing repairs, you can see Levo praying for a new side stand, trying to give the gods his left hand mirror in exchange:-
Fortunately the comprehensive but unused BMW tool kit was equipped with some very fetching red 100mph tape to effect repairs:-
A series of stops to fix what appeared to be a fuel starvation issue and a reluctant to stay shut seat on the RGS:-
After a few more stops we got to "The Station" at Nymboidah for dinner and lodging. This place is owned by Russel Crowe which explains why we couldn't find a single damned phone!! Here's Darty and Levo bending over for me:-
The dinner view:-
The constant stopping for the RGS repairs totally ruined my back tyre dammit so crawled into Armidale but had to wait overnight for a new one! (Shades of FD there ) Apparently 160/60/18's are an "unusual" size.
Waved goodbye to the boys and moped around the bike shop for a while. Was interested in a few old bikes they had there, have a look at the brake setup on this Trident. Who ever heard of one caliper in front and one behind! Does it work or is it a cludge?
Interesting double row drive chain on this old kwaka:-

Thought I might add some pics from the day after boxing day when it was still pouring with rain. I just had to go for a ride no matter. Looking back towards Samford/Dayboro from Mt Mee:-
Terrors Creek has been dry for years:-
The dams overflowing:-
Rads memorial was rather wet:-
Hhhmmm, u turn:-
Wet but great fun _________________ K1100RS '97

Nice to read your fresh (and wet!) report. Adds a little bit more reality to the news that arrive here about recent floods in Australia. In one of the photos it almost seems your K is floating above the grass... I mean water!
Nice Laverda too!

That was the old way of setting up a dual front disc. Mount two right hand lower legs and turn the left side one around backwards to bolt on the caliper. _________________ John & Cathy

You should run some polish over that exhaust every couple of years.
Thx for the pics. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Polish? What is this polish of which ye speaketh??
Speaking of the floods, the area that is currently flooded here as of this morning is equivalent to the area of France and Germany put together according to the news! _________________ K1100RS '97

Yeah, so I read. And floods made its first death, a woman in the state of Queensland? Can't control the weather, can we?... _________________ Carlos

At this stage all the floods are in QLD, but they will make their way down south as well. There was some flooding last week in Northern NSW.
The rescue people have starting getting the police to fine people for swimming or driving through the floods as they are sick of pulling them out which risks the lives of the rescuers. Can't blame them!
What I find disappointing is there are looters. It means there are people who just don't understand what a true aussie is. I would like to get a hold of them for 10 minutes, they wouldn't do it again! _________________ K1100RS '97

Beautiful bike! That's what mine used to look like before gale force winds knocked it over...
