Once again I turn to simply the best BMW forum on the net for advice.

I have a 1998 K1100LT … ABS version.

I am due to replace the rear disc and have sourced a NON ABS disc at a very reasonable price…… and opposed to a new ABS disc for silly money.

Now, I have been told by a reputable dealer it will fit straight on … is this correct?

If so, what are the implications, (apart from the ABS not working), of fitting a non ABS disc?

Do I have to unplug any cables/sensors or remove any bolts?

As I only use the bike for work, it seems impractical to spend unnecessarily if I dont need to

Yes, it will bolt right up and work fine.

You're correct that the ABS will not work. But that just means you have normal brakes.

Not worried about the ABS ..... pain in the arse anyway.

You will need to check with your MOT station as the ABS is testable now and the tester is infomed of the requirements when they log on to the VOSA site for each vehicle. So if your bike is on the system as having ABS then they will be looking for the warning lights to flash in accordance with the manufaturers specification, if it doesn't then it will fail.
You will need to remove the omplete ABS setup and advise VOSA of the change.
