White Brothers springs - anybody got instructions?

Since I have a leaky fork seal, I'm planning to install some White Brothers springs. However, the guy I'm getting them from has lost the installation instructions.

Here's what is on the box:

WHITE BROTHERS 98349 9932. I 92.4
(2304B)
*BMW K1100 LT/RS 92>
WP SUSPENSION PRO-LINE PROGRESSIVE FORK SPRINGS
Manufactured in Malden, Hollland


Wondering if anybody here might have the instructions for installing these springs and could shoot me a copy or maybe know how long the spacers should be.

Thought the old White springs were the "preferred" full length/no spacers.
Everything now needs various length spacers depending on preload/sag.
May be wrong but thought that was what the IBMWR rewrite was on.

Everything I find on White Brothers is for bicycles. Do you mean WP (White Power)?

If they are WP, the guy in Gilroy, CA, Jim Lindemann can probably help you. I don't see any dealers listed on the WP website for the US or Canada. I think I got Jim's contact info from Dave at Anderwerks in Calgary.

When Anton changed the springs on the K, I'm pretty sure he figured preload and sag and cut the spacers (looked like thin wall pvc pipe) accordingly. I probably have the instruction sheet that came with my springs somewhere - but mine are linear - not progressive (based on Jim's recommendation).

The only glitch we ran into was the spring diameter was slightly smaller than the diameter of the stub on the damper.

I'm picking up the springs tomorrow. The guy I'm getting them from says the box has springs and some spacer material in it. I really don't want to f around with sag calculations and all that crap and hopefully can just find out how long to cut the spacers.

When I put some Progressive Springs in a K75 a while back I was able to email Progressive and they told to cut the spacers so that x amount of length was sticking out of the fork with the cap off. That made life easy.

Yeah, I've read that and that's the part that's got me a little baffled. Your write-up says they're full length springs but the guy I'm getting them from says there's spacer material included in the box. Also the part numbers are slightly different. Did yours come with spacer material even though they're "full length" springs that don't need spacers?

I suppose I'll have a better idea when I get my grubby little hands on them.

The picture of the 3 springs types on your write-up is interesting.

There were no spacers in the box and my e-mail with the folks in Europe (long since gone) stated that no spacers were to be used.

Weird - the catalog lists the "9932.192.A" springs I used as correct for the K11 LT & RS:

Are you sure your "I 92.4 " is not really "192.A"??? The boxes (and labels) can get pretty beat up over time.

For what it is worth, new from the French Distributor they are only 96 Euro, I think about $120.

Ugh! Their damned form is broken so I can't contact them. (The form requires a subject according to the error message but there's no field for it on the form.)

I sent an email to WP Germany though since it's a BMW. Hopefully that might get me somewhere.

The plot thickens....

Picked them up yesterday. Unlike Progressive and Race Tech springs which come with a generic length of spacer materials that you're supposed to cut to length, these springs came with two spacers that appear to be be pre-cut to the correct length.

Here they are compared to a stock spring. WP spring and spacer on top, OEM on the bottom:





The WP and spacer is just a wee bit longer so I'm assuming that it's just got a little more preload than OEM. Anyhow, it doesn't look like I need to calculate or cut anything so I'll just toss them in as is. (Once I get those friggin' clips out. Twisted Evil )
