Hello K bike gurus.

I just put a new battery in my 1994 K1100LT and it was working awesomely....for about an hour.

After a nice ride I got home, shut it off and when I went to start it up again the next day I had only about 10% electrical juice.

Checked the battery and it's still 12.8 volts, the clock is working, I can hear the fuel pump trying to turn over and all the lights are working but they're very dim.

I re-checked the battery connections and checked the fuses, looked at all the wiring I could see without tearing everything apart and it all seems fine.

I do have a pair of driving lights and they will come on but very dimly. Looked at the switch and it seems fine.

How could I still have everything working but only at 10%?

I'm not skilled in the magical art of electricity so does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Blu by u

I would be looking for a faulty ground. Possibly the main ground to frame. Is the battery charged? 12.8 V with no load could be deceptive.

Hi blu by u BLUE95LT here
I had a relay socket fry on me a few weeks ago? I put faring and tail light and turn sig. on after a tip over.If I pinched a wire,It would blow a fuze wouldn't it?
I did put in a new batt. in jan. if the starter and altinator copper pieces are dirty from carbon, then electrons dont flow like they should.may try to swap a known good relay in for old one and see about shine up the copper in starter and altinator. just my 2 cents worth.
