I was just bustin'.
I've been riding for years, and I've never used a CC. IMO it's so much better to take a break and a stretch.
BTW, you want buzzy? My GS1150e would have you numb at highway speeds in 20 minutes. Same with the ZR7.
The K is downright smooth compared to either. _________________ 79 Honda CB750 trainer

Well, once you've had CC on a bike you'll never want to ride without it. It makes riding MUCH less stressful because you don't have to constantly be watching your speed. I set mine at 8-9 over on the straight sections and don't have to worry about getting a ticket. Better yet, since you don't have to be checking the speedo all of the time it lets you pay more attention to what's going on around you so you can enjoy the sights more and, more importantly, be more situationally aware so IMO it's makes for safer riding too.
Not to mention no need to be constantly holding/adjusting the throttle.
Aside from switching my LT to Michelin PR2s, it's the best $$$ I ever spent on a bike. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

The thing is, I rarely use the CC in my cage, either.
As for the situational awareness thing, I disagree. Being constantly aware of and being in control of everything going on (mostly), including my control of the throttle, is essential to me and is not distracting in the least.
It's why I still enjoy playing competitive online FPS'...well, it's one reason. It keeps the adrenaline flowing. It keeps your ability to track multiple moving objects simultaneously (great for defensive driving) as well.
Safer? Not IMO. But whatever works for you, keep the shiny side up and the rubber to the road.

Every time you look down at your speedo it means you're not looking somewhere else - like ahead of you or checking your six. If I'm looking down at my speedo when the car ahead of me slams on it's brakes or someone starts to pull out in front of me then that's critical reaction time that I've lost.
I've got full control of the throttle. Twist to go or tap either brake or pull in the clutch to disengage the cruise.
And it much more convenient than fiddling with a throttle lock.
But to each his own. I promise not to break into your garage and install it on your bike. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Just my .02 worth, I agree with The Duck. Having ridden across country, its the best thing I've ever added to the Brick.
P.S. I put about 40K miles a year on my company car. If I could I'd use the C.C. in a school zone, but it won't engage below 30mph. _________________ 1993 K1100LT

I'm too old to wear a Speedo®.
Seriously though, I'm pretty good at feeling speed by using the force.
Listen carefully, young padawan. The force flows through you. It surrounds you and penetrates you. _________________ 79 Honda CB750 trainer

The force is evil. It got me a 12 over performance award coming out of a turn a few years back. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

If you want to break into my carport and install mine on my K, feel free...
It's been real low on the priority list, especially since I have a vista cruise type thing on the throttle, but I swooped on one when they were $15 or so at Kragens. _________________ M N B

I'm also with Duck on this one. It removes a lot of concentration on speed off your mind to spend on avoiding things, even on the freeways. Touch any controls and it instantly switches off so not hard to get rid of. I use CC in the car even more than the bike, so I guess I'm used to it. Wouldn't be without it ever again! _________________ K1100RS '97
