*chunky woman dancing*
8/5/08
Total Cholesterol = 184 (140-200)
Triglycerides = 40 (35-150)
LDL = 109 H (0-100)
HDL = 67 (40-60)
Coronary Risk Calculation = 2.7
I chose to do nothing as is wasn't that bad overall.
4/23/09
Total Cholesterol = 218 H (140-200)
Triglycerides = 126 (35-150)
LDL = 140 H (0-100)
HDL = 53 (40-60)
Coronary Risk Calculation = 4.1
OUCH! Ok, it was time to take control.
So this was my plan.
1. Start taking Simvastin 40 mg QD
2. Reduce my use of butter. I switched to Promise Spread on everything but grilled cheese.
3. I started eating oatmeal everyday. I HATE the slimy nature of oatmeal, so I learned how cook steel cut oats. I totally LOVE them. If you haven't tried them, you don't know what you're missing.
4. I drank one cup of either Rice Dream with Carowise or Minute Maid Premium Heart Wise twice a day.
5. Bought low fat alternatives as often as possible.
6. Took Metamucil once a day.
7. These are the supplements I took twice a day. (and still do)
B-100
Enteric coated fish oil 1000 mg
Vitamin D 1000 mg
Co Q-10 100 mg
Turmeric 1000 mg
Flaxseed oil 1000 mg
Chromium Picolinate 500 mg
MVI
And did all that do...
2/26/10
Total Cholesterol = 173 (140-200)
Triglycerides = 114 (35-150)
LDL = 85 (0-100)
HDL = 51 (40-60)
Coronary Risk Calculation = 3.3

Does that have anything to do with a Brazillian wax? _________________ K1100RS '97

No...
Brazillian breakfest is veryu frugal.
Only a cup of strong and black coffe and one or two slices of bread, with little butter.

Good on ya' Gwen! It's a tough thing to beat.
High blood pressure is my curse. Even with meds and reducing the salt (it's in everything in huge amounts!) I can't seem to get it in check. Being a skinny bastard with an active job it's not excercise, just genetics.
My brother wiitht the same build has the cholesterol issue, again genetics, go figure! _________________ Steve

Naw Johnny a topper is a guy who "tops" everything.
ie "Hey man I just got back from Aruba! Fkn AWESOME!"
topper: "Yeah well last year I went there and scuba dove naked with the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, found sunken treasure and had sex in a tub full of jello while drinking moet, smoking cubans and surrounded by gold treasure"
^^ Topper. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Ernie,
If the "Topper" you are referring to is j o- I don't think getting the "pennies to maintain" man to HM is, how do I say it, a good idea.
Some of us feel that getting j o and OTG within even a few miles of each other might start an unstoppable thermonuclear event. Kind of like matter meeting anti-matter.
The collateral damage (us!) might not be a pretty sight either. _________________ John & Cathy

Hi John,,,,
I see what you mean.... BUT I was referring to the "Aruba" visit !! Somehow, I think that scuba diving with a bevy of naked cheerleaders might be just the thing a K11OG group could support ! But then maybe I've guessed wrong.... what say ?
BTW... when are you off to the south with son to get in that pre-season riding you mentioned ??
Best regards........// Ernie-NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers
