Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports. Have a bomb-protected booth for all passengers to step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you.
It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be no concern about racial profiling and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift.

Cracking idea, that gets my vote.
I recall our last holiday and we were connecting in LAX who were more security scanner paranoid than the London airport we passed through, one woman passenger was having a good ol bitch during the third request to remove our shoes and belts etc for another gate and at the time I said, would you rather they didn't bother and allow someone to board with explosives, I dare say she'd have been the first to moan if any grief had occurred due to a lapse in security.
I also liked the fact that they had a leave your luggage unlocked as ALL luggage will be checked and any locked ones will be broken into to check, policy.
An airport in France while attending a wedding had a suitcase wrapping service, a bloody huge cellophane roll (saran wrap type stuff), great if you've packed your own bag and want to ensure it stays undisturbed, also great if you're a mad terrorist type who wants a quick easy sealing and visual on tampering on your explosive carrier. |
