G'day kieth not sure if you got my return so posted this here .Gidday Keith,I have looked up my records and found my invoice from the parts which I got from motobins in the uk. It just states that my shells are standard. By memory I went by the colour codes and the fact that the motor had definately never been pulled down before ( was told I was crazy pulling it down) Its a pretty rare thing to rebuild a k motor as there almost indestructable apparently and I was amazed at how good the condition of every thing was for a motor with around 150 000 ks . The only realy worn items were the oil rings .All I replaced was a full set of rings, the big ends which could have gone back in and naturaly a full gasket and seals kit.I think I put a vernier gauge on the journals just to confirm the sizing.I put my mains back in as they showed no scuffing or wear and have no knocking , the only thing I think I should of done is the countershaft bearings the rear one being a possibility in my rattle which is towards the rear of the motor so I don't think its cam chain GOOD LUCK WITH THE REBUILD. Thanks for your input. I've put the original set of shell bearing back and have no knocking . So I guess I've misunderstood the color code. Did you use the color code on the crank for the crank bearing and color code on the con rod for the rod bearing?
Great to know all is fine with your rebuild, I'm just getting the hang of it. |

I only did the con rod bearings as my crank bearings showed no wear _________________ 92k1100 lt with sidecar. 93K1100 CAFE..86K75C.95 k1100lt |
