|
|
Good morning all...
Ted posted recently looking for an Official BMW K75 service manual, but along that same vein, I am looking for a full page electrical schematic ( color ) that describes the K1100LT wiring system. The Clymer manual is only B/W but the real problem is that it is split between two pages. I could cut the two opposing pages out of the Clymer, place them together and copy, BUT that will only be a last resort. As I have done with the elec schematics on all my other bikes, I take the full page ( ie: usually an 11 x 17 ) and blow it up to 22 x 34 and hang it on my shop wall so that can see it at a distance when working on elec problems. I know that sounds "old school", but at 67 I dont deny being an 'old school' analog thinker !
So does anyone know of a site that posts a continuous electrical schematic ( in color ) for the K1100LT ??
best regards all on the first day of Winter !!......// Ernie-NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

The BMW wiring diagram for a 94+ LT is broken down by subsystem and is 12 separate pages. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Ernie - I'm sure I had one somewhere on the computer. I'll keep looking for it - have you searched the 'net?
If I can find the scheme I used to have, I can email it to. _________________ Jim

Hello!
Electric diagrams can be found on that German page
translated version.
But you have to use original page to download PDF in correct form and outlook.

Hi Jim... Hi Rafal...
Yes the web search turned up a copy which I can explode, but still B/W. Guess I'll have to make it do until can draw one of my own... Thanks to all for the leads... Really like the "shop layout" of the fellow who heads K-Technique. Neat, clean and good use of space !

Hey Jim..../ Rafal....
Sorry.... I forgot to include the link to the B/W copy:
<<< http://skene.org/k1100/wiring/wiring_diagram.gif >>>
It was done the way I considered, by cutting out the Clymer pages and pasting them together.. However, its better than nothing to start.

Ernie, here's a link to a color pdf. Be advised though that it is in German but it's a good start.
http://www.cafezurburg.de/petergrans/pdf/K11002.2Fahrwerkschaltplanweb.pdf
Here's a link to the home page where it all starts. He has diagrams for different versions of motoronic, frame diagrams, abs diagrams, different series bikes. '75's, 100's, 1100's and 1200's.

Ernie, Rich, or any others, just beware that when Pezi made that diagram he must have been using an older 1100LT. I'm thinking a '93.
Specifically the dash inst pod pin-out listing in his drawing doesn't match my '95 or '97 inst pods.
I do have a pin-out that I made up when I had my '95 cluster apart if your interested. _________________ Ride safe.

Hello all...
Re the LT wiring schematic and the alternative (later ) pinout scheme... as well as any other schematics, maybe these should end up in the "Tech Stickies" for future owners and as back reference for the rest of us... Is that fair ???

The link is broken because he took it down/moved it last year.
I do have the BMW CD with the diagrams if you post up what year, model, version of bike you are working with I can export a diagram for you. It will only be b/w, but it's pretty complete.
Edit: I found the new site....
This is the generic schematic menu page for the 1100LT. Yes it's German as is the language in the pages. If you use Google Chrome it can at least translate the web page but not the PDF's.

Anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram that shows the side stand wiring?
I have several diagrams that seem to show everything but this.
Cheers. _________________ k1100LT Special Edition 1994 |

| On a -94 the sidestand switch cuts the ground connection to the Motronic relay coil and the starter relay coil. |
