... on my trailer.

Picked it up off of Craig's List for a grand. 1991 K75S. Heck, the bags are worth $350 by themselves so I figure it's a pretty god deal.

Dead battery and hasn't been run in a year or two. I took a battery with me but it wouldn't start. I could hear the fuel pump though so it probably just needs the fuel system cleaned out and some fresher fuel injectors.

All in all, it's in pretty good shape with 42k on the clock. Been dropped at least once on each side but in the parking lot so there's just some minor scrapes on the engine covers and the fairing is solid. The seat is shot but I picked up a nice Corbin Dual Sport in October for $75.

I think it'll clean up quite nicely. I don't have room in the garage but it's supposed to be clear (and cold) this weekend. Plan to get it running, change the fluids and give it a spline lube. Hopefully I'll have a nice running K75S by Monday.

There was a guy here in DC selling a 1991 K75S for a grand just a few days ago as well, oddly enough it too had not been run in a year or two and had similar miles.

I was going to go look at it but by then I had already bought my K75RT Very Happy

Looks like a great buy!

I check the local Craig's List for BMWs every morning. Stuff like this comes up only very rarely and usually they're crashed with a salvage title in this price range. Even then you have to jump on them and show up with cash.

This guy had it listed very poorly for $1,000 a few weeks ago. (I thought it was scam ad it was so poorly listed.) Then last week he put up a better ad for $1,500. It's a non-running, somewhat dirty bike with a completely trashed seat. This really limits the guy's ability to sell it because he has to find a buyer that a) is looking for a bike in December, b) has a trailer/truck, and c) is willing to buy a bike that won't even start.

It's a combination of luck and persistence.

Don't know what it is with these 75's but I'm hooked too!

Everyone keeps telling me how sweet the motor is, and then I remember the howl of the Triumph Trident. Cool

I'm currently negotiating on a low miles K75S which has been stripped and powder coated frame and components and is currently virtually a rolling chassis. Loads of spares. Actually there's parts [ including frame ] from 2 bikes.

Should know if it's mine over the weekend - then just a 400 mile round trip to collect it!

It's VERY cheap. Wink

Hi,
If you do buy the K75 in the picture, I'd advise changing the rear brake fluid reservoir to the newer, round reservoir and mount it on the relay box away from sunlight. On this side of the pond, those like the one in the picture have been known to craze and shatter after a few years from exposure to the sun.

if i had any idea how to do anything with html, javascript, and teh intrawebs i would consider making something like that. in the mean time i'll stick to writing robots and gadgets for google wave in java.

how did you develop that?

You can do something like that in MS Word. Taint rocket surgery.

All I gots is this, everything I need on one page:

www.tinyurl.com/fdkdws

(Some of the links are local and only run from my laptop but I also have it on-line for convenience when I'm traveling and using foreign PCs.)

sadly, i'm overall pretty intrawebs illiterate. considering how overall savvy i am with a pc it is a glaring oversight on my part. but for me, aside from basic linking in forums and copying/pasting urls, i have no idea how to do stuff related to the web. and because of that i have about 5 or 6 websites that i visit on rotation to simplify what i have to remember cause i don't like bookmarks. XD
