I finally got out for an overnight weekend ride on my recently-rebuilt '95 K1100RS. I took a roundabout scenic route to southwest Colorado then up through Creede and over Slumgullion pass into Lake City. Here are a few pictures of the 'new' RS.

With the Sangre de Christo mountains in the background:

At the Alfred Packer Massacre site. Packer was a wilderness guide foolishly leading a group of travelers through the mountains in February 1876. They were trapped at this spot by a snowstorm and in April, only Packer walked into nearby Lake City. Later, the partially eaten bodies of the four members of the party were found at this site. Packer admitted to eating them to survive and was later jailed for murder and cannibalism.

A couple more scenic spots:

Rode that route this summer, with thunderboomers all around and few good pictures. Thanks.

BTW, when I did a summer fellowship in Boulder, the favorite food spot in the student union was the Packer Grill. Don't know if it still exists 37 years later..

You have a great looking RS!
And in the Andes Mountains, in the '70, a group of Hokey players have a plane accident crash and the survivors use the canibalism as a form to survive. I believe even a movie was made about this.

Nice images. Great area of the country. Makes our White and Green Mountains look pathetic
