Finally got the rear PR2 for my RS home from Cali. Was thinking about Dynabeads or Dynaballs because I hate wheel wieghts. Then I stumbled across the stuff called Ride-On TPS. Acts as a sealant for small punctures and also automatically balances the wheel. Also greatly reduces pressure loss.

Drake,
I tried Dyna-beads on the front wheels of Cathy's Subaru Outback- her Sub started to have some vibration- must have lost 1 or more wheel weights.
Added Dyna-beads. Did not work at all. No change.
Others may have different results.
Not me.

Drake - I didn't read every word on their site - but did read a lot. They say it helps balance the tire - they also mention not trying to rebalance the tire once the stuff is installed. I think they intend for the tire to be balanced first, then the stuff added, and if the weights are a bit off, this stuff will somehow compensate. _________________ Jim

I read a testimonial they had from some guy who decided to ride across Iraq. (fookin' nutz!) He said he was getting good miles from his tires and that it really helped because they don't bother to balance tires there.
Which reminds me of the classic pic:

Drake - hurry and get that stuff installed - let us know how it works. I think I might give it a try - if nothing else than for keeping air in the tires. _________________ Jim

Could you try some NOS energy drink in your tires for us as well? I bet it'll boost performance. Let us know how it works... _________________ tlp

Put Dynabeads in my new PR2's a week or so ago. Like the results so far. Very smooth at all speeds. My front tire was well (dynamically) ballanced, so not sure that they made any difference, but the rear was static ballanced only (local shop doesn't have the right adapter to spin the K rear wheel) and it's smooth now too. _________________ Larry

the above is a link to an incedent that occured to while i had been using RIde on product.
now i will say this i have been to the shop were it is made . i have been told but not verified that this stuff eats at rims and tires. another product is ultraseal military grade stuff.
i will say this the stuff works and does a great job at smoothing out at any speed. _________________ fix the problem not the blame ; fix what is messed up ; NO one is to blame. |

For some reason, I decided my cross country trip would be a good time to try this stuff. What was I thinking?
I put the recommended amount in the front and rear tires, and a couple of ounces in the trailer tires.
The trailer tires were the first to go. I got new ones when I had to have a bearing serviced in North Little Rock, AR. So much for the Ride-on in the trailer tires.
I hit a rather large chunk of debris on a freeway near LaVerne, CA - bent the crap out of the front wheel, rim and both brake rotors. Miraculously, the front tire wasn't damaged - or at least showed no visible damage. I didn't go down. The tire had to come off to straighten the wheel and rotors. There went the front tire Ride-on.
Got to Kingman, AZ and realized the rear tire didn't have much tread left - as a matter of fact, very little. Spent about 4 hours on the phone trying to line something up. Pushed on to Flagstaff, AZ - looked at the tire - and realized I wasn't going too much further on it.
Thought I had a tire coming from SWMotorubber (Iron Horse BMW's online tire store - trying to compete with SWMototire) but the guy totally flaked out on me - basically told me to phukk off and canceled my order. Do not buy from emototire or SWMotorubber You've been warned I ended up having a tire shipped overnight from Morton's BMW in Spotsylvania. The tire they sent is a four year old Metzeler ME 88. When the new 4 year old tire was installed, the rear tire Ride-on went.
The rear tire was a Michelin Macadam with almost 14,000 miles on it. The front is a Michelin Macadam installed about 5,000 miles after I installed the rear. The front is still looking real good. I will check tires more closely - and maintenance records - before I take off on a long trip again. It's a lot cheaper to have a tire shipped somewhere and waiting for you than to over night one!
Would I try this stuff again? Maybe. It wasn't in any of the tires long enough for me to figure out if it does what they say or not. That said, I didn't notice any ill effects. I wasn't checking air pressure very often - except when changing or re installing tires...
As far as it damaging wheels or tires, Ride-on claims it doesn't. If I decide to try it again, I'll swing by their place and pick it up since they're not too far from me. _________________ Jim

I used PJ-1 Balance Plus for many years. It balances and seals small wounds. The stuff works well. I finally quit using it because it's a mess when changing tires. I never had a tire go flat out on the road with this stuff in it. It's the only magic tire goo I've ever tried though. _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |

Yeah, Johnny. I was there 7/3-7/9. Great place to hang out. Even did some hiking... http://www.cob-net.org/camp/peaceful_pines.htm#Top
I'm in western TN right now - headed back to NOVA. I got to all my planned destinations - just had to deal with some events along the way...
edit - back in NOVA now... _________________ Jim

The RS wheel I recently bought for my LT had a brand new tyre fitted to it, never been on the bike and still had all the pimples on it.
I have done less that 1000 miles and ended up with a screw in it, not a problem, will get it fixed, that is until I saw a green liquid around the screw head.
The bloke I got it from had put it in there.
No tyre place here will even look at it let alone fix it, they all say the tyre HAS to be replaced as the stuff inside stops the patch sticking to the inside, they want me to remove the tyre, clean all the stuff off the rim then they will put a new tyre on.
They have all said that it will void a tyres warranty if anything like that is put in them.
Granted the tyre is not going down at all (the screw is right through) but instead of a quick fix, its now £100 for new rubber. _________________ 1999 K1100LTIC Smooth and Quiet Cruise, BFD & HID

the ride on stuff isn't green, or gooey, or slimy, or anything like that. I was at the shop when the guy took the tire off. There wasn't any stuff on the wheel - it was all on the inside of the tread area - not on the sidewalls. _________________ Jim

I dont know what it is that is in there but they all say they will not try and repair it as the patch "might" not stick.
I am tempted to remove the tyre, clean it all out and see if I can get it done somewhere else. _________________ 1999 K1100LTIC Smooth and Quiet Cruise, BFD & HID
