My '97 K1100LT Basic was sold yesterday. A combination of arthritis in my left ankle and the top heavy nature of the bike caused me to decide to sell it. I could safely control the machine when riding solo but it was getting dodgy sometimes when we rode two up. I'm sure it would not improve domestic tranquility if I were to dump my wife onto the gravel. The good thing about selling it was that it went back to the couple I bought it from eight years ago. I haven't given up riding yet though; I picked up a Burgman 650 last winter and outfitted it with luggage.
I'll check in now and then and reserve the right to supply misinformation, wiseass remarks and obscure technical data as in the past.
Ride on, guys and gals!

Sorry you had to release the LT. Nice that it is going back to who you purchased it from.
Stay with the forum.
