Working on the '94 k1100rs yesterday. Got it running then it quits. I jiggle the wires, and it restarts. Anyway, I noticed before it stalls, the fuel pump stops making noise. Fooling around with the connector it restarts. It does not appear to be the connector itself. I think I have a broken wire from the tank side... I figure I can solder in a new lead.
Are these problematical? Should I just wire in a different 4 pin connector?
Thanks,
Joe |

Yes, the fuel tank connectors have a tendency to fail. I'd replace it with another connector.
I haven't used them for the fuel tank connector but I have used Jim Davis' .250 black 4-lead connectors for other wiring tasks. He also sells sealed connectors but, unlike Shogs, I don't plan to ride my Ks through a swamp so I think the black .250 connectors are adequate.

Disclaimer: Jim IS a friend of mine but he still sells good stuff. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
