I'm working on a plan and looking for some input. My design involves a switch, preferably a doorknob sized multiposition rotating handle that could frame mount somewhere near the battery. It would interrupt both wires to the starter and introduce a stand alone fused circuit involving only battery and ground with reverse polarity that would in effect turn the bike into an electric bike running in reverse.

Just kidding. Maybe I should just try harder to avoid riding in to spots that I can't get out of in first.

Jim,

When I first started looking into sidecars I asked alot of sidecarrists about adding a reverse gear. One guy told me you will only once park where you really need reverse to get out, maybe twice if you're not to bright, after that you don't need it.

It took me three times.

( I have seen pictures of a K100 that had a seperate auto starter with an idler wheel that could be pushed against the rear wheel for a reverse.)

My reverse gear has titties, but sometimes it's unreliable Laughing
Seriously, I try to ride into uphill parking bays & reverse into downhill ones.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Good one, Tim.

I also park the bike so I don't have to back up - my legs are too short for much of that. When I'm pulling the trailer, it's not an issue - there is very little backing with that behind the bike.
