I would like to find out where I can get the clip that is on the top of the glove box lid, is it replaceable?
The clip is used to hold the lid from the radio. I got a bit clumsey one day and it broke off it's only plastic. Bob

It sounded to me like he wanted parts 18, 19 and 20...

The clip on the right cover that holds the lid from the radio (left cover).

You should be able to grab the part numbers and have your local dealer order them (if still available).

Yes it was just "18 and if my memory serves me is held on to the cover by one screw. I is such a minor thing and really when you think of it with MP3 players the radio is redundant. Thanks Bob

That's funny. I've had this bike FIVE YEARS now and was just going to ask today what the hell that clip is for! It's held my phone and Ipod but never my radio cover. Embarassed

FYI: If you hit a big bump or pothole and the radio cover is in the clip it can bounce out of the clip. It's happened to me both on my old K75RT and on my K1100LT. On the K75 I was out in the boonies and recovery was easy. On the LT it happened on the freeway. I stopped and went back to get it. Just I got back to where it was I got to witness it getting crushed and fragmented by the tire of a Celica. Fortunately the piece with the lock bounced over and landed at my feet so I at least recovered the lock.

I still use it though. I'm just careful to keep an eye on it if I hit a big bump.

I also keep a spare one in the basement for the next time it happens.

I've also noticed that when you have the radio cover in the clip that you cannot see the temp guage.
I just throw the cover inside the tank bag. Then I don't have to wory about losing it.

I went out last night and tried it. It holds a cell phone or Ipod better than the radio cover. Very Happy

There's a detent in the radio cover that fits perfectly in the clip. I've ridden hundreds of miles with it in the clip with no problems (eg: 1000 miles each way to Canada and back).

The salesman explained what the clip was for when I bought the bike. I think it's also covered in the Owner's Manual, but don't quote me.

I don't use it much anymore since I use a cassette adapter that plugs into the output of my zumo. I just leave it in all the time, so there's really no need to remove the radio cover. I did actually use it today, though. I didn't grab the zumo when I went to lunch, so I used the radio. Had to reset the stations on the presets... Laughing
