|
|
I have a small leak on my '96 KLT oil pan seam between engine block and pan.
I did the clean the engine with Gunk and power washer thing and
re-torqued the pan bolts to spec.
I see BMW does not believe in using gaskets here, so my next question was what type of sealer do I use after taking the pan off, clenaing it up and reinstalling?
Thanks |

I use clear silicon bath sealant sparingly, if it can stop a Norton being incontinent, no trouble on a Beemer _________________ Regards Tim,

I suppose any silicone sealant might work - but since there are silicone sealants made especially for engine and transmission work, I would use one of those rather than the kitchen and bath type.
Remember to give it plenty of cure time before running the bike. _________________ Jim

I used gasket sealant when I replaced the bellhousing on my K75RT - worked great. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
