Today I unplugged the ABS muliti pin plug, removed and washed out my overflow tank (it had scaly stuff in it) and put everything back. I took the bike for a spin and the caution light stays on. I turned the bike on and off and it still stays on (yes, I touched front and back brakes).

What's the deal??

1. Weak battery.
2. Clear/check fault codes.
3. Weak battery.

The blinky ABS lights go out as they should after the "click, click" on take off.

Just the triangle light stays on. The battery is fine.

How do I clear/check fault codes?

Check the connector for the rear brake switch - you might have disturbed it while fiddling about.

If it's staying on solid that means it's one of the following:

Front brake switch

Rear brake switch

Tail light

Brake light

Those are what the bulb monitor tests.

Drake,

Where is this swith located? I have both the Cllymer and the Service_99.pdf file. Perhaps you can just give me a page number, etc.

I may have gotten things a little wet with a little water when cleaning out the reserve coolant tank. I made sure the ABC connection was good and dry before I connected it.

I just went outside, unplugged and replugged the unit and check all local connections. Nothing is loose.

If it's on solid it is not ABS-related.

Your rear brake switch is loacted at the rear of the brake pedal. There are two sets of wires that come up from behind the right pegplate. One for the sidestand switch and one for the brake. The one that goes up near the bettary os the sidestand switch. The one that goes along the angled frame rail is the brake switch.

Drake's da Man!

It was my rear light. Burnt out.

I plugged in a replacement bulb and presto, my caution light disappeared!

Why did that bulb have to burn out right after I was messing with something on the bike? That makes it much harder to diagnose.

Now I'm going for a ride before it rains.

Thanks again.
