Its the "three wheeled" guy again On the 1990 K1 16v engine/gearbox I have I stripped out my clutch to address the oil leak I developed after going in to fix last years starter clutch issue I had , the main engine seal was fine the oil was coming as a slight weep from the clutch centre nut area , my question is when I assemble this loosely to figure it out the raised section on the washer behind the nut doesnt look like it compresses the o ring ? I cant see how the o ring is going to seal unless its under slight compression from the afore mentioned stepped washer , I can see the output shaft splines and the clutch carrier splines and they end up flush with each other , is their something else in here I may have have lost , the Clymer manual diagram doesnt show anything else nor does the real oem parts fiche ? I am almost thinking of jamming in two o rings ? but I know this is a bodge , has anyone had a leak at this junction ?
Apologies for being a bit long winded !
Regards to all

1) O-ring
2) Thrust washer
3) Cltuch nut
That's it.
Be sure to torque it, loosen, retorque as described in the manual. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks for the reply Duck have you ever had one leak here before ? I know I used a new o ring and torqued it up correctly the first time

I replaced a leaky one on a K100RS4V, torqued it properly and the leak went away. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hi Bill,
That was the source of a leak on my K1100 at 125K miles. I just reassembled with a new o-ring (coated with silicone grease this time) and it's still leak free at 146K. The sequence is Thrust washer, Clutch housing, o-ring, thrust ring, nut.
Use the procedure in the service manual to seat the housing and then re-torque.
