I think I've read most of what's on this site, and I've tried both a Kodak and Picassa webaddress, but can't seem to get it to take.
Any other suggestions?
I'm new.
Thanks.

Yes, upload to http://photobucket.com/ and then you can copy and paste it here. It's free. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Hi Lamar - you can use Picassa - you just have to figure out which part of the link address phpBB uses. It took me a few minutes to figure it out. This is the embed link in Picassa: <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/FiKBpxshTPclWA6wJpQroQ?authkey=V1tRx5z0uU4&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_c5Cqcul1ARY/SNsG_1m4smI/AAAAAAAACB4/NJIZTN29GMY/s800/DSC04181.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/jim.vaughn6/Detailed?authkey=V1tRx5z0uU4&feat=embedwebsite">detailed</a></td></tr></table>
That won't work. This is the only usable part: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_c5Cqcul1ARY/SNsG_1m4smI/AAAAAAAACB4/NJIZTN29GMY/s800/DSC04181.JPG - in bold above.
The embed link then has to have after - like this: [img]http://lh3.ggpht.com/_c5Cqcul1ARY/SNsG_1m4smI/AAAAAAAACB4/NJIZTN29GMY/s800/DSC04181.JPG
I left a space in there so the link wouldn't work - so you can see what it looks like. If I make it a working link, you won't see the link - just the picture:
For an avatar, use the thumbnail size and the same part of the embed link I showed you above - worked for me...

Those two bikes look eerily similar. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Yeah - but the one across the pond doesn't have rear speakers - and what the hell is that in front of the fork? A dreamcatcher??? _________________ Jim

Mines got rear speakers. The "dreamcatcher" is a tax disc or properly called road fund licence, but these days the money pays for wars or bailing out b(w)ankers.
Seriously, we have to "tax" our vehicles £60 PA for a big bike, to get the disc, we must prove that there is insurance & have had it tested for roadworthiness if it is more than 3 years old. Not so much a dreamcatcher, more a nightmare. _________________ Regards Tim,

Thanks for the help men.
As you can see, I've figured-out how to get pics into the body of a posting, but I continue to have no luck with the avatar.
I've tried to save the save the same thumbnail that is in the message below to my profile, but still no luck having it accepted as the avatar.
I'm not sure what else to do. Any other recommendations?

Pretty bike and you're kinda in the neighborhood but I don't know why you can't get the avatar to stick. What does it say when you try? _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

hey Lamar - I copied this: http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt337/alamarn/LamarAtGrandTetons-1.jpg and pasted it in the avatar box at the bottom of the profile page - seems to work just fine. You can't use the [img] [/img] for the avatar - just the link. _________________ Jim

Jim, et al.;
Looks like you solved my problem with the avatar. I had been using the [img] at the front and back of the link as per when posting the pics.
Now we all know what works and what doesn't! Maybe I'll practice with another/better photo of "The Bismarck."
Thanks again,
