not a product but a minor 'discovery'!
My plastic surrounds on the dash fairing have faded to a sort of grey. I've tried all the usual products, back to black and similar, but none lasted more than a few days.
Tried a little clear laquer (Hford's own make for the UK) on one of the lids just to see what happens and lo, it has turned black. So now I've sprayed the other parts of the dash and although for the first few days it looks a bit shockingly shiny, that fades but the black remains.
Doesn't need much, just a quick squirt and because the surface is uneven, there's no prep needed, apart from washing of course.
Very Happy

Alot of people reccomend peanut butter for black trim, smooth not crunchy, has something to do with the peanut oils in it, rub it on then wipe the excess off and its supposed to last longer than the spray can stuff!
Not tried it though.

I go camping in bear country on my bike. I can just see a bear pushing over my LT trying to lick it. Though I reckon after a week or two and some miles it wouldn't put out any scent.

Black Shoe polish. Tried it on the rear mudguard (fender (not a guitar)) at Easter, still black ATM.

I tend to think of laquer as a hard material.

How well does this application work on the slightly bendy parts over time and how is it effected by part removal for servicing?

Hi shoganai - as yet I don't know to be honest! So far it's doing well as I only applied a very thin layer indeed. I'll let you know if anything changes!
